The deadline to sign onto the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh passed on Tuesday, and at least 14 major North American retailers declined to participate. They include:

Walmart (shocking!), Macy’s, GAP, Sears, JC Penney, Target, Kohl’s, Nordstrom, Footlocker

Almost 2,000 of the world’s most poorly paid workers have died in sweat shop disasters in a matter of months. A fire swept through a sweat shop, killing more than 100 women who were ordered to keep working and WERE LOCKED INSIDE. Last month, a building collapse killed more than 1,000.

In conclusion, the drama between the transgender community and HRC (which sadly flared up last week after Rep. Frank introduced a non-inclusive ENDA) is a forty-year-old stew flavored with historical hatred, arrogance, political miscalculations, communication failures, misunderstandings, mistrust, and Machiavellian duplicity.

HRC also has a pathetic history of refusing to deal with trans people as equals not only in terms of civil rights legislation but even in hiring talented transgender people for their organization. This historical negativity keeps transpeople from working with HRC in any capacity. (Don’t even get me started about the African-American community beefs with HRC, that’s another post.)

you know what ive noticed thus far about the new wave of nyc .

bars and restaurants on every block. because you know thats a”social setting” (all of downtown manhattan is the main topic)

when you think about it ,do we really need so many “social places” that overcharges for the simplest of commodities. What about arcades , vegetable gardens , idk something other than a fucking bar or a restaurant.

What I am getting at is nyc is becoming a huge bore, you are either eating or watching something stupid. there is no true entertainment left.

Clubbing is so stupid mainly because you can do that at your own house for free (also its the worse place to pick up dates) .

Drinking at a bar everyday proves that you either are bored with yourself or you are just a very boring person.

Raving, eh ill give it a go but i don’t like being surrounded by the same people wearing the same stupid clothing w/ the same doucebagg guys slithering amongst the 13-18 yr old girls . plus they smell pretty rank

What Iam getting at is plain and simple

Capitalism sucks and we are becoming so worn out and so passive about real issues. Therefore bars and restaurants help us feel content with our social and economic boundaries. You don’t have to think about it too much .
Its less about becoming closer to someone and more about the feeling that you have “more friends”of a random variety.

Books are fascinating but lets be serious not everyone is reading something of interest its more of “öh look ma! rape in my book,fascinating…can’t wait to tell my friends this!

Idk once again my rants are all over than place.

But people are becoming so 2demensional its sad.
